Permanent Waves was when the band started to back down from their long, progressive rock and hard rock songs and swiched to a more radio friendly stand point. Sales sky rocketed after the radio airplay that the two hit songs, The Spirit of Radio and Freewill. This album expirimented with the use of reggae, which then expanded when the band recorded their next album Moving Pictures.

On a Side Note....Edit

  • Entre Nous means "between us" in French
  • Although the song Entre Nous was very similar to the style of the hit song Freewill, which got a lot of radio airplay, it didn't get played on radio stations that much, and was never performed live until Snakes & Arrows in 2008.
  • Geddy Lee wrote the song Different Strings on this album.
