Rush Vapor Trails

Vapor Trails was the seventeenth studio album of the hit progressive rock band, RUSH. And the first since the hiatus after the events in Neil Peart's life that led him to quit the band for a short time.(see On a Side Note... section) This album took a whole 14 months to finish, and though got odd critical reception for sound quality, got moderate reception from fans. This album was very important for the band, a whopping six years since Test for Echo.

On a Side Note...

  • The song Ghost Rider makes an allusion to Peart's book and his motorcycle riding after his incident in 1999.
  • This was, what we hope to be, the last part of the epic 'Fear' series.
  • It reached position number six on the Billboard 200.
  • It also reached position number three on the Top Canadian Albums chart.
  • Most critics called it too loud, and saw it as sort of a loudness war, something most metal writers do today on their CDs.
